Placing the Stake in the Ground: Intro

10.24.25
Welcome to my first blog post! This is mostly a visual test because coding is hard and I have had to fight and use every resource known to man to figure this out. But it goes to show that anyone can do it if they have enough determination, grit, and accidentally lock in for way too long. Thank you to all the people that helped and all of the resources that I've found to even get this far because I am far from a professional. You couldn't pay me to explain what the heck I did to even get this far.
The site as a whole was meant for me to be a little more "free from social media". I needed a place to share my professional work while also having a more solid place to share my thoughts and passions without it breaching the containment cesspool that is social media. Don't get me wrong, I'll still be around to promote my work and showcase all my friends and look at cool art and funny memes, but here is where you'll get most updates, first and foremost. I don't do all that much to have the fortitude for a "consistent" newsletter, so this was the perfect alternative. Plus, I missed the era of fun webbed sites and doing funky things with it. And also the blogging era. (Yes maybe I could do all that on my original site, but there were far more constraints and it was also way more expensive than neocities. (Note to self: switch over your domain).
And while this particular site might be much simpler than the classic MySpace profiles with all of its bells and whistles (I never had Myspace lmao) it still works for me. (I was in the GaiaOnline and Neopets era of website design so I'm not fully immune to wanting something glittering for no reason lmao.) Although this just gave me an idea of what I want to do for my Cosmos Page. And then once I figure out my Recommedations page, we'll really be in it to win it. (I also realized I could probably format my Prose page (for all of my short stories) like this Blog page too... but that requires me to retrace my steps and figure out how I did this blog page again.......... Yeah. That's for later too.
It's crazy how much code you can learn only to promptly forget it lmao. ANYWAY! Rambling aside, I'm excited to make this space more lived in and direct people here to really get a sense of what I'm about and why I do what I do.
You will see the writer, the editor, the comic creator, the reviewer, the dreamer, the person that wants to do so many projects while helping manage like 800 more, and whatever other hat I decide to put on while I stand on my soapbox. But most importantly, you'll see it on my time. So? Stay tuned, I guess!

See you in the stars 🌟
